A Dubious Terrain - Gerald J. Kubicki This book, which is part of the Colton Banyon series, is filled to the brim with ideas. In fact it's so full that it is in danger of imploding. Although the author seems to have an abundance of energetic and interesting ideas, there are simply too many packed into this book. The secret Nazi organisation, which has been in place and passed down for decades. The issue of immigration laws and illegal immagrants in the US. The paranormal angle and the spirit mentor and so on.The authors political opinion about illegal immigrants is voiced quite strongly in the one of the sub-plots. Each and every one of those ideas is vying for attention and simultaneously they detract from each other. Sometimes less is more. The writing style is too stiff and it often reads like a report instead of a fictional story. I received a free copy of this book for my review.
